Our blogger Jonty chatted to Rose Kirkup whose Fringe award-winning show I AM Tasha Fierce is returning to Basement next week.
What can we expect from the show?
I AM Tasha Fierce is an intimate look into a moment in Tasha’s life, She lets her guard is down looking to the audience to support through a difficult time as she wallows in the tub. Through the power of Tasha’s best friend in the world Beyonce we see Tasha use the smash hits of Bey and comedy to pick her self up and continue to slay.
When did you first become aware of Beyoncé?
When my older sister Anne gave me D-child Say My name Single on C-D for my 13th birthday.
What are you favourite Beyoncé songs / lyrics?
I don’t have one fav Bey song they are all my favourite… But the lyrics I love most are from Who run the world (girls)
"Boy I know you love it, How we’re smart enough to make these millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business”
How the show changed at all since it’s inception at Fringe?
The Fringe show was a site specific work at Inverlochy Art School really low-fi all candle lit. So the biggest change is bring the work to the theatre and testing it in this space.
I Am Tasha Fierce will be on from the 15 – 19 Nov. Info and booking can be found here. More of Jonty’s writing can be found on his blog.
