Fake American Accent is a riff on the homogenisation of "performance poetry" by the likes of globalisation and Youtube, in which kids look to American idols before realising the huge amount of talent we have in our own backdoor. We're trying to create a space that validates the place of literature on stage, that compensates creatives, that challenges the boundaries of what poetry could look like, and presents new writing by emerging and established talent.
