Announcing our Winter/Matariki Time & Space Resident!

We’re delighted to announce that the Time & Space Resident for our Winter/Matariki season is none other than musical theatre powerhouse Brady Peeti!

Brady (Ngāti Maniapoto, Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi) is a pioneering, award-winning, stage and screen actor, who has recently made history as the first transgender actor to play the role of Lucy Harris in Jekyll & Hyde The Musical. Off the back of her debut one-woman rock show, What Happened to Mary-Anne?, Brady is now ready to dive headfirst into her next project: a full-scale musical about conformity and self-expression called The Neons.

Set in a grey, rigid, monochrome world, the musical follows a pair of twins - one ‘normal’, one neon-powered - and the power clash between them. Working with Bray Jeffery as co-composer during the residency, Brady will further develop the script and focus purely on the writing - an opportunity that she describes as feeling “both rare and really valuable.”
