A performance art exhibition that invites artists of multiple disciplines to showcase what purgatory looks like to them, in an exploration & celebration of what it's like to be an artist in Aotearoa.

In a modern landscape that feels increasingly difficult to create art, PURGATORY is a peek behind the curtain at the creative process of expression through music, comedy, fine art, clowning, and other abstract forms, and how it can often feel like an endless loop of screaming into the void.

Itay Dom @itaybendom

As seen eliminated from Guy Mont-Spelling Bee and The Bachelorette, Itay Dom is an Auckland-based comedian available for hire.

Ruby Pledge & Molly Curnow of @chance.of.sun

Chance of Sun is an indie-folk trio of friends made up of multidisciplinary artists Zoe Crane, Molly Curnow, and Ruby Pledge. Brought together by crossed paths and curiosity, you can feel the love and joy in their music. Through their signature blend of tender harmonies the songs they share are intimate, gentle, and rhythmic, layered with secrets and humour.

Lise Jansen-Luke @lisejeandesign

Currently working in the architectural realm, Lise comes from the Ngaio Valley in Pōneke to explore landscapes through printmaking and drawing.

Clowndio Claudio Cubillos Pefaur

The well-travelled Clowndio learned the art of lying from the best masters around the globe, and is ready to delight you with his best tricks. If you'd believe that to be true?

Veronica Herber @veronicaherber

Living and working in Tāmaki Makaurau, Veronica Herber is an award winning artist. She is known for her large outdoor sculptures made from Japanese Washi tape and interior monochrome artworks.
