A grieving woman and her talking cow. A 1991 newsroom. A flat torn apart by a hundred-thousand-dollar scratchie.

A smorgasbord of scenes from new plays by seven bold voices, showcasing the work of Auckland Theatre Company's 2026 Emerging Writers Table. Featuring scenes written by Riley Brebner, Sugar Rea-Bruce, Peter Burman, Holly Hudson, Tash Lay, Rainton Oneroa, and Georgie Wright. Performed by Auckland Theatre Company's 2026 Youth Company.

Following the showcase, each play is given its own reading in the Basement Theatre studio from Wed 25 Nov to Sat 28 Nov, offering a fuller look at the work these writers have developed across the year: 

Wed 25 Nov: Confession (Riley Brebner) and Live at Six (Holly Hudson)
Thu 26 Nov: Ana & Bub (Rainton Oneroa) and Waterview (Tash Lay)
Fri 27 Nov: The Misery of Milk and Meat (Sugar Rea-Bruce) and 100k (Georgie Wright)
Sat 28 Nov: I've Been Trying to Write a Manifesto (Peter Burman) and a returning Emerging Writers Table alumni work
