Sam has come to a month-long silent meditation retreat.
His ex Heidi said he needed to learn to shut up and be less of an idiot.
But Sam struggles to find inner peace and chant OM......
He’s more of a spiritual crisis zone screaming WOOOF !!!
Written by award-winning Wellington playwright Micky Delahunty for musician and actor Jono Weston, WOOOF is the solo comedy of Sam’s attempt at spiritual wisdom, while being very much a human work-in-progress!
WOOOF is the latest in several projects Micky and Jono have been part of together, including NZ Fringe shows JIMMY (2024) and Hey Siri (2025).
Micky has brought three prior shows to the Basement, Affinity (2014) #UsTwo (2020) and Interrupting Cow (2024). They have written over thirty plays and have been awarded the NZOM for Services to Theatre. So they're fairly old now...
Jono - still fairly young !- is keyboardist for Wellington funk band Major Flaws and has been involved in many musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar (2017) HAIR (2021) Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Mama Mia (2025)
Off to the Edinburgh Fringe for a few shows in August, this unlikely pair bring Sam’s efforts at Right Thought and Enlightenment to Auckland - Right Action!
