SILLY SEASON 2026

As a ‘Hire For Nothing’ Silly Season show, you pay a subsidised flat fee per show slot for a Venue Technician/Operator.

Studio - Seats: 63 (inc. 2x house seats) + 1 usher

Flat Technical Fee: $85+GST per show slot (ie 2 shows = $170+GST)

Theatre - Seats: 110 (inc. 4x house seats) + 1 usher

Flat Technical Fee: $150+GST per show slot (ie 2 shows = $300+GST)

Tech:

  • The lighting and sound rig is pre-set by the Basement team, all ready to go! You may be able to add a maximum of 1 special light. Adding a projector is possible, but depends on use.
  • The seating layout will be pre-set in a custom configuration and cannot be changed.

Access:

  • 90 minutes of pack in and dress rehearsal time, scheduled within the week at a time set in consultation with the Technical Manager.
  • Shared Green Room access up to 30 minutes before your show, and 15 minutes afterwards. This is the minimum possible as the final access times will be set with the full schedule in mind.
  • Stage access 15 minutes before and after the performance. Any set and props elements must be able to be set up and removed within that 15 mins.
  • Only items brought in (costumes, props, set elements, tape spikes etc) will need to be removed at the end of your season. Basement will load out all the tech so you don’t have to!

Staff:

  • Venue Technician supervision during all access hours.
  • An Operator for all your access hours, including your 90 min pack-in/dress and the entire 90 mins of stage access per performance.
  • Box office and Bar staff across the entire Silly Season.

Marketing:

  • Festival media inclusion:
    • Multiple EDMs
    • Inclusion in Basement Socials, Website, and any wider media campaign
    • Inclusion on the Banner outside Basement
    • 1x A2 poster in the Venue
