Black Creatives Aotearoa Makers Wiki: 2 Step with SERENITY WISE

Show Info
Line dance workshop
A little bit of steppin and a little bit of soul line dance. These types of dances come from Black social dance and have many names. Some have specific footwork (like Chicago style steppin') and some are open to creative individual input, such as soul line dance, but all of the dances are social and meant to offer a relaxed fun way to move together in groups. If you’ve ever done the cupid shuffle or the electric slide at a party, you’ve already experienced some soul line dances. We’re bringing the same energy to this workshop, where we’ll learn some basic steps and enjoy moving together.
You can dress however makes you feel good, though the vibe is usually similar to an informal party. Kids are welcome but the event is geared towards adults (music such as R&B, Afrobeat, pop, and funk may have occasional adult language).
