Where Are You From...From? looks at the identity of minorities through this photography exhibition. These photos explore what the featured artists would consider their best possible self - The Wasian Witch, The People Pleaser Servant, The Imposter.

In Tamaki Makaurau, the art industry is thriving but there it’s still the presence of tall poppy syndrome. We are often pushed down to repress any tantalising, dramatic persona, especially those of foreign descent. This photo series experiments with vibrant colours, ethnic fashion and confidence in the ordinary. Through this creative photo series, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the complex tapestry of identities that make up our diverse group, while also celebrating the shared values and aspirations that bind us together.

Where Are You From... From? Will be up in Basement's foyer for 3 weeks during Fringe Festival - Tuesday 3rd September - Saturday 21st September.

Also, for one night only, we are sharing poetry and readings made by the artists around this exhibitions exploration.
